The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office has taken delivery of four trailers to be used by the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for emergency missions in the field or during special events. The trailers were obtained through grants along with much of the equipment inside. Standing with two of the trailers is Sheriff’s Emergency Management Planner Bret Jordan. Bret oversees the initial training of the CERT volunteers and coordinates their activities.

The basic training includes light search and rescue, medical care, preparation, basic fire control, terrorism, disaster psychology and much more. Anyone wishing to take the CERT training, which is free, can email Bret at bjordan@sheriffcitrus.org or call 352-249-2704. [ Click here for larger image ]
