The Sheriff's Office is looking for Jesse Prive, 32, who is now wanted on two counts of attempted murder.

Homosassa garage fire causes moderate damage

A fire in a garage around noon on Monday at 5365 W. Minuteman St. in Homosassa caused moderate damage to the home there.

There were no injuries reported.

Citrus Sheriff Fire Rescue units arrived on scene to find the single-family block-construction home with fire and smoke coming from the home's attached garage, and 60 percent involved.

Inverness gas station robbed on Sunday

Citrus County deputies responded to an armed robbery on Sunday at about 7:30 p.m. at the Marathon gas station on Arbor Street and County Road 581 in Inverness.

The suspect brandished a large knife and got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was wearing a black-and-white dirt bike-type mask, sunglasses, reddish brown gloves and either a brown or camo hoodie.

Citrus County deputies are looking for one or more suspects in the robbery on Tuesday of the Florida Gun Supply on Pine Street in downtown Inverness.
 
dDeputies responded to the store at approximately 6:46 a.m. after an unnamed individual reported a suspicious incident at the store.
 
Deputies determined that there had beenUpon responding to the call, deputies arrived, they discovered there had been a burglary.

Woman found dead in Crystal River Motel

Citrus County deputies on Sunday questioned a person of interest in connection with a Floral City woman's death on Saturday at the Crystal River Motel.
 
Deputies were called to the Crystal River Motel before noon after motel staff found a  deceased female.
 
When deputies arrived, they found 30-year-old Leucretia Eileen Roberts, Floral City, had died under suspicious circumstances. Detectives are investigating to determine what happened.

Elderly Homosassa man dies in crash

An 88-year-old Homosassa driver was killed after his vehicle hit a palm tree on Monday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol accident report says that Richard H. Turner, 88, was driving northbound on Suncoast Boulevard near West Green Acres Street in the inside lane when he lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons.

DUNNELLON -- The Citrus County Sheriff's Office is looking for three suspects who held up two different Internet cafes and their patrons at gunpoint on Saturday night on Dunnellon Road.

The robberies occurred at about 9 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said on Sunday.

Home invasion suspect, accomplice arrested

A home invasion suspect and his alleged accomplice were arrested on Thursday in Sumter County.

Arrested were Mandy Duncan, 27, of Beverly Hills, and Dustin Spangler, 30, of Hernando, who were both charged in connection with the Oct. 10 home invasion in Citrus Hills.

Spngler and Duncan are facing charges of home invasion and battery on a person 65 years of age or older. The pair was taken into custody by Sumter County deputies after a Citrus County Sheriff's Office investigation into a home invasion led straight to him.

Campbell sentenced to 25 years

John Carson Campbell, 30, of Homosassa, has been sentenced to a total of 25 years in the Department of Corrections for aggravated battery w/ a deadly weapon, robbery- strong arm, and aggravated assault w/ a deadly weapon.

This was following guilty verdicts from a Jury Trial in Judge Ric Howard's courtroom from a prior date. Campbell was convicted of beating a man with a handgun in 2015, causing serious injuries.

Sheriff's Office advises Hernando residents to lock up

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office is advising Hernando's residents there have been an increase in property-related crimes off of Hwy 41 in Hernando in the area of Dearborn Drive and Overdrive Circle.

The suspects are targeting sheds, vehicles, RVs and residences during the early morning and afternoon hours.

Home inversion supect captured in Sumter County

Dustin Ray SpanglerDustin Spangler, who was wanted for a home invasion that occurred on Oct. 10 in Citrus Hills, was apprehended in Sumter County Thursday afternoon.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office said on Thursday that Charges will be forthcoming and will be released on Friday.
