Black Diamond golf tourney nets $51K

The Pro-Am golf tournament, held each year in Lecanto, has raised $51,000 in 2014 to help residents throughout Citrus County.

This year marked the 11th year the event has been observed.

The event helps fund community grants, education initiatives, youth activities, family and veterans' assistance, disaster relief, fire and rescue services.

It also helps target efforts to fight hunger and homelessness that improve lives and create opportunities in Citrus County.

One of the sponsors of the event is Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center.

Accepting a sponsorship recognition plaque this year was Joyce Brancato, Chief Executive Officer of SRRMC, which was awarded by Jay Joines, sponsorship co-chair of the 11th annual Black Diamond Foundation Pro-Am Golf Tournament.
