Business Women’s Alliance announces 2010 scholarship program

The Business Women’s Alliance of the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce has expanded its scholarship award program.

The alliance is now offering financial assistance for students planning further education for health occupations, as well as for students planning a future in business other than healthcare.

Proceeds from BWA’s successful 2009 Women’s Health & Fitness Expo and its quarterly luncheons will fund the $1,000 scholarships, which are being offered to students in Lecanto, Crystal River, Citrus and Withlacoochee Technical high schools plus Withlacoochee Technical Institute healthcare and business tracks.

Applicants must be Citrus County residents who demonstrate financial need. Completed application form and personal statement, financial resources form, transcript and letters of reference are required. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications are available at the guidance offices in the high schools and WTI, and are due back to the guidance counselors by March 31. For more information, contact the Business Women’s Alliance at
