County announces second phase of recycling center closures

The county on Monday will engage in its second phase of closing county recycling centers, having voted 5-0 on March 14 to close all recycling centers except the county's landfill recycling center in Lecanto, only a couple of miles from Inverness.

Woman uses social media to confess 'crimes'

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Friday said it was fully aware of a video posted on Facebook, and other social media sites, in which a woman confesses to a homicide that allegedly occurred in Citrus County, as well as various sex crimes.
Citrus County detectives have been looking into these claims since late last year, the CCSO said in a statement released on Friday. 
"We have spent many hours investigating the statements made by this individual, including detectives traveling out of state to interview her.

The county is closing its public recycling centers.

The only place residents will now have to recycle will be the county landfillat 230 W. Gulf to Lake Highway in Lecanto, which the county said on Thursday will not cost residents a fee to use.
