The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners have proclaimed the week of Feb. 20-24 as YMCA Youth in Government Week.
 
Citrus County YMCA stands firmly committed to promoting and inspiring the next generation of citizen servant leaders through experiential learning with the YMCA’s Youth in Government program. 
 
The Youth in Government delegates learn the inner workings of state and local government, which helps to guide and inspire them in their future goals and career paths.

Peters was honored for his service to the county during his tenure on the Tourist Development Council and for his many years of generous contributions to both Floral City and Citrus County. (February 14, 2017)

Transit Orange Line interconnects with trolly hub

Citrus County Transit Service would like to remind everyone that the Orange Line picks up and drops off multiple times during daytime hours, Monday through Friday at Crystal River City Hall on Route 19, which is the 2017 designated Trolley Hub.

Robbery at Sunoco gas station in Hernando

Citrus County deputies are actively looking for a man who robbed attacked a clerk at a Sunoco gas state in Hernando and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
The Sheriff's Office said Thursday that just before 8 p.m. deputies responded to a burglar alarm at the gas station located at 1211 N. Florida Ave. in Hernando. 
 
Detectives said a white male walked into the store and threatened the clerk for money. No firearm was brandished, the Sheriff's Office said. There was a struggle between the suspect and clerk.
