County Offices closed July 4

Citrus County Government offices will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

The county landfill will be open regular operating hours on Saturday, July 2 and closed on Monday, July 4.

All library branches will be open regular business hours on Saturday, July 2, but will be closed on Monday, July 4.

County passes anti-fracking ordinance

The Citrus County Commission on Tuesday unanimously passed its anti-fracking ordinance.

Up to this point, 11 Florida counties have passed anti-fracking ordinances. A large political block, "Floridians Against Fracking" has been a major contributor to the movement to ban all fracking in the state.
