A mobile home fire on Friday night caused extensive damage to a Hernando residence.
No one was at the home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
Citrus Sheriff Fire Rescue was dispatched at 6:49 p.m. to the residential structure fire at 4044 North Lasso Terrace in Hernando. Squad 23 from Kensington arrived on scene to find the single-wide manufactured home that was 35 percent involved in fire.
The fire had burned through the roof and had vented itself, firefighters said. Crews made an aggressive offensive attack, and were able to bring the fire under control at 7:16 p.m.
Fire officials estimated the damage to the structure at 50 percent Structural Damage and smoke damage inside at 100 percent. The Florida State Fire Marshals Office was notfied to assist with the cause of the fire. No information is available at this time.
Crews from Hernando, Pine Ridge, Kensington, Citrus Springs and Beverly Hills assisted with this fire.
