The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners have proclaimed the week of May 14-20 as Law Enforcement Appreciation Week in Citrus County.
 
Law enforcement officers of Citrus County play an essential role in safeguarding rights and freedoms of Citrus County. 
 
They risk their lives daily to ensure each citizen can live in a safe and secure environment. Our law enforcement officers work in partnership with their community to protect life and property, solve neighborhood problems, and enhance the quality of life in Citrus County.
 
The Board of County Commissioners recognizes the week of May 14-20 as Law Enforcement Appreciation Week in Citrus County, commemorates law enforcement officers past and present, who by faithful and loyal devotion to their responsibilities, have rendered a dedicated service to their communities and, in so doing, have established for themselves an enviable and enduring reputation for preserving our rights and security, and calls the observance to the attention of all citizens.
