CMH recognized as Regional Hospital of Year

Citrus Memorial HospitalCitrus Memorial Hospital was recently recognized by Mended Hearts as a Regional Hospital of the Year.

The Southern Region encompasses seven states and Puerto Rico, and serves 46 chapters of the heart disease support group.

FHP seeking hit-and-run driver in Lecanto fatal accident

Hit-And-Run signThe Florida Highway Patrol is seeking help in identifying and locating a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday night in Lecanto.

Citrus County Sheriff's office deputies assisted troopers with the accident that occurred at the intersection of West Southern Street and South Fairland Terrace in Lecanto at approximately 10:20 p.m. Friday.

Withlacoochee River seen slowly receding

The Withlacoochee River has been reported as slowly receding.

However, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Monday reported, river flood warnings are still in effect.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, the River at Holder was reported at 8.75 feet. This portion of the river is still now at the “minor flood” stage.
