Transit Orange Line interconnects with trolly hub

Citrus County Transit Service would like to remind everyone that the Orange Line picks up and drops off multiple times during daytime hours, Monday through Friday at Crystal River City Hall on Route 19, which is the 2017 designated Trolley Hub.
 
The Crystal River Orange Line has multiple scheduled stops that would be of interest to visitors and residents including the Crystal River Mall/Movie

Fire, smoke damage Hernando mobile home

A mobile home fire on Friday night caused extensive damage to a Hernando residence.

Smoke detector saves lives

A working smoke alarm on Friday night is credited with saving a Floral City family.
 
Firefighters arrived to find a mobile home at 10040 S. Arabian Ave. with fire coming from the porch area. 
 
Firefighters from three engines quickly put out the fire. Firefighters said that all occupants were able to get out of the house because of a working smoke alarm.

Teaching old dogs new tricks

County names new Engineering Division director

Randall S. Olney

Citrus County Department of Public Works has named Randall S. Olney, P.E., as the new Engineering Division Director.
 
Olney started in his new position on Monday.
 
Olney graduated from University of Florida with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
