Three receive SRRMC CHOICE Award

CRYSTAL RIVER — Kevin Garside, Maureen Pittman, RN, and Debbie Ludlow each received Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center’s 3rd Quarter CHOICE Award for their outstanding commitment to making the hospital a better place for patients, employees, physicians and volunteers.

This honor is only awarded to those who best exemplify SRRMCs mission to serve the community with excellence in health care.


Fire destroys vacation home near Crystal Manor

Citrus County firefighters on Tuesday were called to the scene of a structure fire that completely destroyed a cottage-type vacation home near Crystal Manor.

Fire crews were called to 9791 W. Riverwood Drive, where about 500 square feet of the home was already consumed by fire when they arrived, and which threatened another small building approximately 10 feet away.

No one was home at the time.


Sheriff's 10-43 Show: 'Bad to the Bone'

Join host Heather Yates and special guest Deputy Thomas Beagan on the next Sheriff’s 10-43 show.

Beagan, a member of the Sheriff’s SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team explains the purpose and responsibilities of the unit in keeping the community safe.

The two also discuss the recent “Bad to the Bone” competition held in Ocala, in which the SWAT team took fourth place. A special video highlights the competition will be shown. Tune into the show to find out all of the details at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.


Missing, endangered man located in Inverness

INVERNESS - Deputies located 51-year-old Kevin Worrall today, just after noon, at his father’s home in Inverness.

Worrall was found to be safe, but had been listed as missing and endangered since Sunday, Oct. 11, when he was last seen at the Crystal River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Worrall told deputies he had left the center unexpectedly in order to move in recently with his father.

Worrall’s name and information have been removed from the national database for missing persons.
