Health Dept. slates Florida Healthy Babies community meetings

The Florida Department of Health in Citrus County is pleased to announce it will be hosting a series of community meetings to discuss local maternal and infant health data and develop a plan to address infant mortality as part of the Florida Healthy Babies Initiative.

The Citrus County Commission voted 3-2 to allow part-time county employees to continue receiving insurance benefits until they leave county service.

But part-timers who will follow them won't receive that insurance.

Citrus Memorial CEO Beaty to resign

Ryan BeatyCitrus Memorial Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ryan Beaty on Friday announced that he will resign on March 15.

The announcement is part of an agreement between the hospital's two governing boards to lease the community hospital to conglomerate Hospital Corporation of America.

Beaty's resignation is set for March 15.
