Team effort secures grant for Sugarmill Woods landscape project

Citrus County Administrator Randy Oliver was notified by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) on July 18 that Citrus County’s requested funding of the State Road 700 (U.S. Hwy 98/West Ponce De Leon Boulevard) landscape project was approved for $395,000.

Members of the Southern Woods Property Owners Association in Sugarmill Woods asked the Citrus County Commission on Tuesday to look into lessening any noise that might be generated by traffic from the Suncoast Parkway II project.

County emergency agencies assessing storm damage

Citrus County's Emergency management agencies, county government and cities are assessing the aftermath of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Hermine.

As straggler rain bands pelt the county, the National Weather Service keeps posted a flood watch for the county until tonight, with the promise of widespread showers and thunderstorms.

County roadways were still clogged on Friday morning.
