Search continues for missing Inverness woman

Carol McHugh, 72, was last seen wearing this walking outfit, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Citrus County Sheriff's Office and several other organizations on Saturday continued the search for 72 year old Carol McHugh from Inverness, who was reported missing on Thursday.
 
Search efforts on Saturday were hampered by severe weather with lightning.
 
From Thursday until Saturday, detectives have pursued every lead that has come in to the Sheriff's Office.

Homosassa man killed after crashing into billboard sign

The Florida Highway patrol says a Homosassa man was killed on Saturday after his vehicle struck a billboard sign and he was ejected.
 
The man has been identified as Wilmer Hager, 29.
 
The Florida Highway Patrol said that the incident occurred at about 12:15 a.m.

Authorities seek sexual battery suspect

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate Jeremiah “Cherokee” Rowe regarding an active warrant for felony capital sex battery, victim under 12 years of age. 
 
He is 5’9” tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Driver arrested following pursuit may be linked to Lecanto death

The driver of a truck who led Citrus and Marion County deputies on a pursuit before being apprehended in Marion County may be linked to the death of an elderly man in Lecanto.
 
The Citrus County Sheriff's Office said today that the truck belonged to Jamews Thomas Roman, 73, of 5281 W.

Sword-wielding man stabs woman to death

Eric Huffman, 41, of Hernando
A gruesome case of apparent rage surfaced on Sunday in Hernando and ended with the murder of a woman and the suspect arrested and charged with the crime.
 
Just before 10:30 on Sunday, Citrus County deputies responded to a home on East Benjamin Street after receiving a call that a woman was being stabbed.
