Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency in the state as rapidly growing Hurricane Irma, now a Category 4 storm, is expected to make landfall later this week.

Deputies looking for suspected TV shoplifter

This man is accused of having stolen two TV's from the Lecanto WalMart on August 16, 2017, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office said.

He is said to have stolen two 36" TVs from the Lecanto WalMart on Aug. 16. 
 
He is a white male, approximately 6' tall, 170 pounds and was wearing an orange and black hat, a black t-shirt with "Fast N Loud" written on the front of the shirt in orange letters, dark colored shorts and tennis shoes. 
 
He has tattoos on his forearms and both legs.

Apollo Beach woman drowns while scalloping in Crystal River

On Monday evening, the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission (FWC) contacted the Citrus County Sheriff's Office about a drowning that occurred earlier in the Gulf.

The CCSO was told that 47-year-old Tammy Barth and her husband Mark Barth, from Apollo Beach, had been scalloping in Crystal River all day.
