Truman Boulevard reopens after water break swallows car

A portion of Truman Boulevard in Beverly Hills has reopened to traffic.

On Monday, a water main break ended up swallowing a car.

Temporary repairs have been made, Citrus County Road Maintenance reports. Permanent repairs to the road surface will be scheduled for a later date. The water main is owned and operated by Rolling Oaks, a private utility.

Nov. 15 is recycling day

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed Nov. 15 as Citrus County Recycles Day.

The Nov. 1 BOCC proclamation reads, "The citizens of Citrus County treasure the God-given natural resources of our waters, earth and air, that are interconnected essential elements of our physical situation which we share with wildlife and the beauty of our abundant plant life.

Fitch upgrades Citrus County’s bond rating

On Wednesday, Fitch, New York announced Citrus County Bond Rating has been upgraded to AA from AA- for the Issuer Default Rating (i.e. General Bond Rating) and to AA- from A+ for capital improvement and non-ad valorem revenue bonds.

Sheriff Dawsy honored by county commission

Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy

Retiring Citrus County Sheriff Jeff Dawsy on Tuesday was formally recognized by the county commission for his years of service to the county.

He was honored during a special time of the meeting with a plaque, with the thanks of county commissioners.
